Creating and sharing lists in Worldcat

Did you know that you can create and share reading lists in Worldcat?  All you need to do is go to Worldcat (, and click on “sign in” (next to Worldcat in the upper right hand corner of your screen).  After you create an account and sign in, click on your username as it appears in the upper right hand corner of your screen.  You should see your user profile, and an area called “lists”.  Click on the “create” link, and give your list a name.

Now, you’re ready to put stuff in your list.  You can search or browse Worldcat for items to add to your list.  When you find something you like, click on “add to list” on the item’s full record screen.  You will then choose the list to which you want to add the item.  Repeat this process for every item you find.

You can then share your list with the world, or your can make it private.  You can also send the URL of the list to your friends, colleagues, or students!
