In the last 20 years many things have advanced and grown, while some things have stayed the same. With technology, it is ever changing and metamorphisizing into new more streamlined fuctionality. With that said, Bucknell has chosen to start a project to delve into the Banner Business process in all the Banner offices with the help of third-party Banner experts to intentionally step back and review the current version of the Banner products we use and how we are using them.
With Ellucian’s help, we will take an indepth look at our business processes today and compare the current Banner baseline functionality that is available to see if there are assumptions we used 10 to 15 years ago that should be reevaluated to better use the features now available in Banner. This process will begin the week of July 30th, with Student Area (The Registrar, Admissions, and the Student Affairs areas)being the first of many. After our introspection and feedback from Ellucian, we will review the feedback from these sessions with an eye toward maximizing the value of the “Banner Campus” and determine what projects (if any) should be chartered to implement the recommendations.
It is our hope that this ongoing process that will culminate over the next 24 months, will bring many benefits to Bucknell, it’s offices, and it’s staff.
