There are notable event spaces on campus that have received much-needed technology upgrades this summer.
The Forum in the Elaine Langone Center has a new sound system. The Forum is used for classes and a variety of guest speakers including authors, artists and experts in many academic fields. The new sound system provides better quality sound and eliminates past feedback issues, giving the audience a more enjoyable experience.
Hunt Formal, or the Hunt Living Room as it is sometimes called, hosts many events throughout the year. It is a popular place for banquets, meetings, wedding receptions and religious services. The upgrades replaced the eight year old projector and analog audio with wide-screen projection, a touch-screen control system, digital audio and HDMI inputs to accommodate the projection from a high-definition source such as an iPad or Blu-ray player.
Larison Dining Hall is heavily used for events such as banquets, galas, wedding receptions, large meetings and performances. The upgrades to Larison Dining Hall utilized much of the existing equipment in the room, but made the system more functional and user-friendly. Before the upgrades, the projection screen was located at the front of the stage, making the stage virtually unusable when utilizing the projector. The renovation moved the screen to the back of the stage and a new high-lumens widescreen format projector was installed. The brightness of the new projector will compensate for the amount of light that floods into the room from the large windows. The system also received touch-screen control and includes HDMI inputs.
These upgrades will provide a better experience to the campus and community when utilizing these spaces.
