New Gateway to Rich Cultural Resources

The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), launched on April 18th, 2013, arose from the vision of a national digital library with millions of items from libraries, museums, and archives across the country.  Leaders from libraries, academia, foundations, and technology projects are collaborating to create “an open, distributed network of comprehensive online resources that would draw on the nation’s living heritage from libraries, universities, archives, and museums in order to educate, inform, and empower everyone in current and future generations.”  Search DPLA with the main search box, then refine results by subject, location, date, format, and language.  Browse DPLA’s fascinating exhibitions, or browse by subject, map, or timeline.
