Faculty produce digital stories during ITEC’s summer video workshop

Faculty members across disciplines produced digital stories of their own during ITEC’s summer video workshop. Here they learned a hands-on approach to understanding how video can be used as an important form of pedagogy in the classroom.

As part of the workshop faculty members were asked to create a digital story. What is a digital story you ask? Well, it’s a first-hand account of an experience or event that changed your life in some way. By recording a narration and then placing selected video clips, still images, photos, drawings, and music around that narration, the author learns how to think critically, self-reflect, and articulate his/her message.

During the week, faculty also learned how to write a script, storyboard, record audio using the Audiobooth, edit in FCP X, and assess a video project. It was a pretty great week with fantastic results!
