Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a different sort of database – it provides a ranking of journal titles, through a formula based on how often the articles in that journal publication are cited. This is called a journal “impact factor” and authors are eager to publish where their research will have a high impact! JCR is integrated into the Web of Science database, ranking journals in science and the social sciences. It allows users to compare titles, review entire subject categories, and visualize data.
JCR is currently available on the Web of Science page, see the tab at the top of the screen, to open “Journal Citation Reports.”
